The Klamath-Siskiyou region is one of the most biologically diverse areas in North America. With high degrees of species endemism, it attracts researchers from throughout the northwest who are advancing scientific knowledge through the study of its unique flora and fauna. In the summer of 2002, the Biscuit Fire encompassed most of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness and severely impacted the Klamath-Siskiyou Region. In its wake, the need to understand the complex natural history of this region is more important than ever.
To share and integrate this scientific research and discuss its implications, the Siskiyou Field Institute invites you to attend The Second Conference on Klamath-Siskiyou Ecology: Biodiversity and Habitat Restoration. Species protection and habitat restoration are of key concern in the biologically diverse Klamath-Siskiyou Mountains. This 2 ½ day conference, held in conjunction with the Western Session of Siskiyou Field Institute courses, will address both historical and changing perspectives on conservation and restoration.
