Come learn about the three bond options and voice your opinion before a final recommendation is delivered to the School Board!

This is it…the final opportunity for public input on three tax options for improving our school facilities. A 17 member Bond & Facilities Planning Committee has been working diligently for the past several months to bring these options to the public at an Open House Wednesday from 4-8pm at the Public Library. The public is invited to hear final public input on three proposed potential reccomendations. This input will assist the committee in developing its recommendations for one final bond package which will be presented to the Ashland School Board on May 8.

1.      Option A would cost approximately $90 Million and replaces or fully renovates all of the older high school buildings; replaces the two elementary schools needing the most repair work with two new, energy-efficient schools; and provides core facility enhancements at the other schools (including essential health and safety). This option would be for a 20 year bond.

2.      Option B would cost approximately $60 Million and completes one of three phases of the High School Master Plan (replacing several older buildings with one, new, energy-efficient building that better serves the academic needs of the school) and replaces one elementary with a new, energy-efficient building.  This option would be for a 10 year bond.

3.      Option C would cost approximately $30 Million and essentially maintain the current tax rate for the next ten years and addresses only essential health & safety at our schools; it does NOT include any facility improvements or new buildings. This option is a 10 year bond and defers most work and needed improvements.
